 Education and literacy training

 Basic education provide children and adults with core skills essential in succeeding in all aspects

 of later life: finding or creating a decent job; raising healthy family; building of civil society,

 educated children in turn help their immediate family and community while contributing to

 nation building, and participating constructively in the democratic process and the wider world.

 Despite universal recognition of these facts, over 110 million primary school-age children in

 developing countries remain out of school, and more than 60% of these un enrolled children are

 girls.

• Increase educational opportunities and scholarships for  the underprivileged—orphans and rural youths  

• Expand access to basic education, literacy/vocational training, targeting youths.

• Open access to training in small business incubation, applied numeric  and computer/interne

•  literacy increased for women entrepreneurs  

• Support adult literacy training and community/civic learning centers   

• Improve learning environment through teacher training for better instructional materials,

media/internet resource

• Expand frontiers for advanced learning— targeting rural poor undertaking highly specialized

  academic pursuits in engineering, medicine, computer science, biotechnology, and information

 technology management.

•  Encourage programs and practices that fosters self-reliance—orienting education for

 market-driven work-force development

• Increase access to quality education for rural poor by strengthening educational infrastructures
