Dear Sir/ Madam.

We are writing to you on behalf of the PRIDE a Non-Profit Organization with a 501(c)(3) IRS status. As you may know, people around the world still die every day from AIDS, especially in Africa while the entire world is focusing on war. The fact is unawareness is common due to poor communication, stigma and discrimination of the infected is being practiced while resources are inadequate and medication is stretched. We believe the more realistic and affordable option to ameliorate this situation is to develop comprehensive and multi-sectorial approach to improve preventive efforts. We are in great need of any help to succeed in the proposed conference scheduled for October 2003 on the theme “Preventing HIV/AIDS epidemic in Sub Saharan Africa and Reversing the tide to a More Health-Conscious Path.”

We in PRIDE working as volunteers have dedicated ourselves to stop the spread and effect of HIV/AIDS

·        Educating and rehabilitating of children orphan to AIDS.

·        Improving communication strategies that include the use of theater arts and folk laws

·        Improving the quality and reliability of HIV diagnostic practices

·        Expanding voluntary testing and confidential counseling to a record threshold.

·        Creating and extending collaborations with the western world in order to strengthen community based organizations in Africa to combat HIV.

The impact of the AIDS crisis in Africa is far more devastating than anywhere else in the world. AIDS is causing unprecedented devastation in African societies and economies. According to United Nations-AIDS latest Sub-Saharan Fact Sheet- DEC2003.

·        3.5 mi/lion Africans became infected in 2002, bringing the total number of adults and children in Africa living with HI V/AIDS to 29.4 million.

·        AIDS has orphaned more than 11 million children in Africa.

·        In 2002, 2.4 million Africans died of AIDS. The numbers for 2003 will be even higher,

With these staggering facts in mind, we ask you to be a part of our mission in PRIDE our participation, whether as a donor, sponsor, advertiser or member of our advisory board can help make the difference between life and death for so many of those who are less fortunate.

We have enclosed our proposed program for the conference. We would enjoy the opportunity to make a formal presentation to you and all other appropriate members of your family. For further information, feel free to contact us at 3013224777.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Respectfully,

Henry Mbah  DVM, MSc
